Devout are his followers on Twitter ever since his successful play to gain half a million of them this summer (which he has since nearly doubled and has upped the stakes in hopes of totalling a million). His recent victory, no doubt, will serve to bolster that probability.The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and Nurse Jackie star Peter Facinelli has been known to make good use of his Twitter - not only in connecting with his fans and giving tidbits of filming information, but also in spreading the word on certain philanthropies.
As of now, you might see a few hundred thousand of Facinelli's followers toting a yellow lemon on their Twitter avatar coming off of his support for a charity entitled Alex's Lemonade - which benefits the search for a cure to childhood cancer.
In any case, his Twitter page has become a beacon of interest for Twilight fans and other Facinelli fans alike, and he has been active with promoting his position in the latest Twitter-related competition - The Ultimate World Mr Twitter Worldwide contest.
As of last night, he has officially won the competition (by a mass margin of 17,673 votes), toppling competitors like Star Trek star Zachary Quinto, amongst many others.
Facinelli's response to the victory was, of course, one of gratitude, but he also made good use of the recent nickname coinage issued a few weeks back in preparation for the results - Mr. Twitternelli.
